ONLINE INTERVIEW

How Old Are You?
Why?...It depends on who you talk to. Truthfully, I'll be 25 in September (shhhhh...don't tell).

Where Are You From?
Wow. Well, I was born in Far Rockaway, Queens, NY. My Mother's family is from St. Vincent and My Father's are from Belize/Guatamala. I lived In Aurora, CO. (20 minutes outside of Denver). Spent eight years from 1992. I also lived in Huntsville, AL. Now I'm East New York, Brooklyn...too the fullest. Oh, to answer your question...I'm from existence. Did I mention I was a poet. Ha ha ha.

How Long Have You've Been Beatboxing For?
I have childhood memories, maybe since I was about 8 or 9. But I stopped as I got older. It wasn't lady like. How superficial is that? I think I'm allowed human emotions (see I'm not that hard on myself). I can remember 4 episodes of utilizing my gift before now. I've always loved it.

What Got You Into Beatboxing?
I was a Tomboy. Being a Tomboy was work. I had to have a good arm, be able to take a hit, climb trees (there are no trees in Far Rockaway...hmmmm), have the best clowns, and know football stats; WORK. So, of course I beatboxed.

What Type Of Equipment Do You Have?
Equipment? My vocal chords. I'm still a baby in this whole thing. I came in crawling, but I will walk; no doubt. I'll have an answer for you at the end of the year. My chords play a wicked trumpet.

Have You Ever Done Any Live Shows, Events, Concerts?
Yes. I have an original piece I do that's a poem incorporated with singing and beatboxing. I perform REALITY at many different live events. I just had my first beatbox feature at CBGB's on February 17.

How Do You Feel About The Beatboxing Movement?
It's a beautiful thing. An uprising, like a replenishing of something that never should have went anywhere. It's brilliant.

Who Is Your Favourite Beatboxer?
Afra. He can sound like the whole damn studio. Afra's hot!

How Do You Find It Being A Female Beatboxer in the Scene?
It feels good. I'm standing out again; being different.

What Are Your Future Beatboxing Goals?
To be respected and known amoungst the Legacy. I want to make history.
