ONLINE INTERVIEW

How Old Are You?
I'm 16 years old

Where Are You From?
From Bournemouth, Dorset, UK

How Long Have You've Been Beatboxing For?
I've been beatboxing since I was about 13.

What Got You Into Beatboxing?
Nothing actually got me into beatboxing, it was just a habit I'd do round the house when I was bored, back then I didn't even no it was called beatboxing. I did it a lot with my younger brother and I realised I was actually quite good at it cos I used to get my mates to try n they couldn't even a bit! from there I just haven't stopped

What Type Of Equipment Do You Have?
I don't have much equipment, I do have cd dj mixer n mic but don't have the stuff or no how to record. don't have my own computer either but my dad's (nightmare) lol.

Have You Ever Done Any Live Shows, Events, Concerts?
I have done beatboxing at live show like b boy events. I did a battle at uk hip hop crew champs in portmouth a few months ago. I was against a 19 year old guy. it was the crowds decision who won n I got the loudest cheers. it felt great cos it was the 1st ever time id done anything live, and my first time on a mic! I've done it at wales open b boy a few months ago as well. it was a open mic so I got straight up there. I did a beat while some kid was rapping over it. but that's pretty much it. iv never seen a gal beatbox with my own eyes.

How Do You Feel About The Beatboxing Movement?
I think the whole beatbox scene is moving a the right direction. there aren't many females but there are some! pretty good as well. with beatboxing, u either got it or u aren't and there are so many talented people out there. I hope in the future there will b more gals and I'm sure there will. its great to c gals getting involved in the scene.

Who Is Your Favourite Beatboxer?
I don't really have a fav but I think kella is wicked. also hopey 1, she is the best female I've heard, iv heard her stuff n I do pretty much what she does.

How Do You Find It Being A Female Beatboxer in the Scene?
I find being a female Beatboxer great. I mean, when iv done a freestyle at an event I feel great. it boosts my confidence every time. sometimes if I tell people I'm a Beatboxer they think just cos I'm a gal, I crap. being a female unfortunately u got to put up with people like that, but i ignore it because I no I'm good. iv had people shaken my hand at events I don't even no so that makes me feel good.

What Are Your Future Beatboxing Goals?
My goals, I want to hopefully get my own beatboxing website up, JUST FOR GIRLS, and keep on beatboxing at events to get my name out there and represent!!
