Volectrix Tour Review
 

So My trip to san fran for the first part of the mini tour was great. I stayed at Kid Beyond’s house. He was a great host. I met some new friends so I wanna shout them out : Peace to Mouse, Vivian, Chaos, and Neon Leon. It was a blast recording with you Neon. Oh and Mouse I owe you a session! The perfomance was great. Butterscotch came all the way from Sacramento to perform for this She did a small set. Like 10 minutes! But it was to minutes of beautiful music and she has a great singing voice. Each and I though had to scramble and did a duet together! Nice one Each! We got the crowd pumped! Ok then this beat boxer and guitarist named the Genie sent the crowd on a wild middle eastern type of vibe. The cat is so smooth! Each got up and rocked a serious set people were like holy sh*t! I was like holy Sh*t and I know him! Of course I did my set and I love pushing the boundaries of beat boxing and vocal sound art my forever ending works in progress I shared and people were like what the…? Hahahahahaha Kid Beyond said it best “this is not your grandmothers beat boxing” this is a whole new world. This punk rock cat started moshing to my music I loved it. And Then Kid Beyond got up and ripped it! Had the crowd dancing and screaming I was like Kid is such a good performer. I like Kid’s style because he is about fun in his music and really wants the crowd to have fun! I cant wait for his album to come out. ESP performed in between the sets and jammed with us I love those cats so nice and the visual the mixed are dope as hell! My camera got jacked so that pissed me off something fierce. You know I have been to San Fran using words like fierce! So now I am off to Los Angeles for Part II of the Volectrix tour! Hahahahahah!

Los Angeles was smoking. First K Million I must extend a hand of respect for allowing me to stay at your space. Props to Joshua for promoting this event at the Temple Bar. You did a hell of a job. I want to thank Nate and his girlfriend Squeen for opening their home to me and the beat boxers for a place to crash and a place to rehearse. I also wanna say peace to Droopy (Keep telling those jokes brotha) Oh and I would like to say peace to Bennetta for driving me around and showing me Los Angeles much love. Now with that said The show was PHAT We did a performance that rocked! I started out and brought my craziness and atmosphere but of course added in some beats to make your head nod. I was joined by Ben Zviti who is a solid cat on those beats. Each then came up and he kicked in another solid performance. Young cat has mad skills he is going to be dangerous as he gets older. He will definitely be considered one of the greats.

Kmillion was next. He ripped it! Kmillion has a swagger on that stage that rivals the best of them. And his beats are very hard hitting. The women really love this guy! Joshua was next and broke it down on a lot of levels did the beat boxing and harmonica ripped some effects. And laced it with a tribute to doug e fresh and did a parody of La di da di. It was so funny . The emcee who did it was of da chain! Then we did a jam session which was in my humble opinion, HOT AS HELL!
 

Portland was so much fun I first want to say that I made a real connection with a scene in Portland. Please visit this site www.freakmountain.com Rockabilly and country musicians! This was an amzing hook up. If I had not seen it and been a part of it I would not have believed it: Rockabilly and hip hop! I played at the Laurelthirst with The Freak Mountain Ramblers which was so great to see people into rockabilly dig what I was doing. The blend of hip hip hop beats and vocal scratching with good ol fashion rockabilly and country music was amazing. I then did a gig with Portlands finest beat boxers Nicoluminous and Fogatron. Nicoluminous is an amazing musician he mixes reggae, spoken word and beat boxing into this smooth conscious blend. Fogatron is just amazing with his sounds a real pro on it. I would like him to take it a step further though with sounds and incorporate some skits in there because his voices are dope as hell! Oh and then the jam session was just so fucking hot. I wanna say thank you so much to these guys who busted but with promotion and performing. I wanna say thank you to Catherine who let me stay at her pad and mess it up as well as use it for my base of operations. See you in a few weeks Catherine.
